A MESSAGE FROM UNITAS ON COVID- 19
To our UNITAS Family and all who may read this message. At this time of crisis in the world and especially in New York City, we are particularly troubled as to what tomorrow may bring, and with that comes some despair, but most of all hope. We understand the constraints that COVID-19 has put on families across America and the world and wanted to reach out to all of you to let you know that UNITAS will be here for you in any way we can.
Our staff is working closely with our prevention partners to insure that we are providing services to our community and to assure that our children are safe and are receiving the academic support and guidance the need. While our UNITAS caretaker program cannot be conducted, our staff is doing continuous outreach with clients and students in our community, providing social and emotional support in any way they can while using approved tele-practice methods.
UNITAS Therapeutic Community was built on the premise of helping the community, and we will continue to provide effective and unbroken services to all who may seek our help during this critical time in our lifetime. The resources provided below will guide you to information that might be useful to you. Please check out those links if you need any information.

All youth, older and younger are linked together in a design that simulates functional family life which we refer to as a "symbolic family."

Greeting to all, who have come to this page to learn about UNITAS Therapeutic Community, an organization that has been in existence for the past 48 years. As the Executive Director, my vision is nothing less than to see this organization continue to realize the full potential of every child and their family that walk through our door. Through utilizing our unique UNITAS model and five different evidence based models, we are endeavored to expand our effectiveness in saving and building lives through offering clinical, psychoeducational and educational strategies that transcends all cultures to drive a new era of human development, positive growth, and building of productive communities.
I am inviting you to join us on our journey as we strive to serve more than 1200 individuals this year. Like many Community Based Organizations, we are facing financial constraints due to cuts in program funding, but we are nonetheless committed to continue our work without compromise.
